Today your challenge in the 31 Day project is to find out what your customers are saying about you behind your back… or rather online.

Today’s Teaching:

Have you ever been to a restaurant and the bathroom looked like a dirty-bomb exploded in it? Have you ever waited for a drink at a bar, and the bartender was extremely slow and kept messing up your Brandy Sidecar?

It doesn’t matter how much new paint you slapped on the walls. It doesn’t matter how much extra cushion that has been placed in the seats. What matters most is how your employees, team, your associates represent your business.

Why? Because everything is online. Your customers online reviews will either Haunt you or Help you.

But do you want to know the scary part?

You probably don’t even know it, but I will tell you.

During last Friday night’s mad rush, you didn’t know that Teressa Jackson went into your restroom and left disgusted. She told her five friends who were waiting in-line that they should not eat at your place. And they all left.

Little did you know Teressa Jackson is also the human resources director for a local company; she was tasked that morning to get catering information to serve 500 people. She wanted to check you place out.

Later that night, still disgusted, she goes online and writes a review on citysearch.com or yelp.com.

“Is this your restaurant?” Check out this screen shot of an online customer review I found:

‎

Do you know what the difference between you and me?

I now what our customers, media, vendors, government, employees, and advocates say about Ms. Piggies’ Smokehouse nearly the instant they press submit button.

How To Create Your Own Online Spy Program In Less Than 5 Minutes

Let me tell you, how I created my online “central intelligence agency”… and how you can do the same thing for free — Today — In the next 5 minutes.

8 Profit Boosting Google Alerts Your Need To Create Today

1. Your Name – Would you like to know what people are saying about you? I do. If anyone publishes my name, I find out about it instantly. Luckily, my name isn’t James Johnson or John Smith.

2. Your Business Name – This should be obvious. If the above reviews where about your business, wouldn’t you want to know and rectify the problem?

3. Your Business Name Misspelled – How do you spell Ms. Piggy’s? Or is it Mrs. Piggie?

4. Your Niche or Specialty – Find out if fast-casual businesses are seeing increases in revenue or bankruptcies.

5. Your Local Competitors Names – Learn what they are doing and do it better, faster, and with more quality and outstanding service. Even better than that, learn which ones are going out-of-business so you can buy there tables at a discount.

6. Find Products – Are you getting the best deal on your spices, paper products, credit card system?

7. Find Better Employees – Couldn’t you create an alert that searches resumes for you?

8. Local Businesses You Want To Do Catering Jobs For – What companies are benefiting from government subsidies? Which firm just won a big contract? I’m quite sure they have something to celebrate. You might as well be the first to congratulate and offer feed them, huh?

Warning: You can only create 1,000 Google alerts per email address. If you need to create a larger Google “spy program”, get more email addresses… I have 12 email addresses… and my Google “spy agency” works all night 24/7.
